Our Story

It all started on the banks of the River Murray.

We’re Bridie and Ben — two passionate river lovers who spent our weekends fishing carp to help reduce their impact on our waterways. But after catching these invasive fish, we were left with only one option: tossing them in the green bin. That didn’t sit right with us.

Then came Charlie — a fearless little dachshund with a big love for fishing. Charlie would leap into the water to help reel in carp, even ones his own size. His enthusiasm sparked an idea: if Charlie loved carp, maybe other dogs would too.

From our shared kitchen (and with the patience of a very understanding roommate), we began experimenting. Despite the unmistakable aroma of fish wafting through the house, we developed our first eco-friendly carp dog treats.

From Backyard to Bigger Impact

In early 2024, local legends like Goodwood Fine Meats, Joan’s Pantry, and the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre helped us share our treats with the community. We spent weekends handcrafting every bite, earning just 50 cents an hour but fuelled by a big vision — to turn a wasted resource into something good for dogs and the planet.

By 2025, demand had outgrown our backyard production. We pressed pause on making treats to focus on scaling sustainably. We’ve invested in research, connected with local businesses, and refined our processes to make a bigger environmental impact.

Our Mission

Every treat helps remove invasive carp from the River Murray, protecting native ecosystems and turning a pest into a planet-positive product.

In our first year alone, we removed over 1000 carp from the river. And this is just the beginning --- our goal is to hit 1,000,000

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we can make a real splash!!!
